Apologies for the late push today: job2 yesterday (been too long, so yay!!!!) went late and job3 this morning in a bit (on fire and inverted again, sir....when do we break for lunch? Oooooh, Salisbury steak!). ;^)
Wishing you and yours a happy, safe and RV-filled weekend.

Noahhl RE: Power and data in same connectors - how do you organize?
Doing a full panel you'll end up with a harness that has many of those stray power/ground wires, which themselves ultimately form a neat bundle. You also won't really end up with distinct cables that go from A to B; in a modern full glass panel there are so many interconnects between different boxes that each connector is likely going to 2, 3, 4, or more other connectors. I had one major trunk and then one branch per device.
This is a picture of my harness when it was nearly complete and before installation -- the mostly purple bundle next to the soldering iron is all of the power wires; the mostly gray bundle to its right is grounds going to a forest of tabs.

PaulvS RE: Aerodynamic Experts Please Eval my DIY Pitot AOA Help & Calculate Drag (for two different Pitot Tubes)
I'm trying the rivet port in the leading edge for Dynon AOA. It's not flying yet so I cannot confirm that it works, but the port is in the location that has worked for others.
The port is a wide flange rivet with a 3/16" diameter stem that is mechanically connected to a 3/16" diameter nylon tube to the ADAHRS module, so there is no silicone RTV holding it on (I didn't like the idea of that method much either).

Like others have posted, the proper tool in the best way to go. The mags studs might be easier than larger cylinder and case studs, but still the way to go.
The lead based anti-sieze is available on line. That’s what should be used, but loc-tite will work.

I've spent the last couple weeks trying to learn about avionics wiring, mostly in the context of my GTN 625 navigator and GTR 200 radio, but I'm also looking at the G5 while I make a decision about backup attitude. One thing that stands out: every last box/module seems to use power pins that...

Please see my sketch. I am making my own two tube Pitot AOA. Variation on Van's design but two tubes, second for AOA. It will not use AN fitting but machined fitting. I don't want heated Pitot. I could go Dynon non heated and a mast, for under $400. This design is free and I hope will do the...

Lycoming Stud Removal (E-Mag Installation)
Does anyone have the latest Lyc Overhaul manual for direct drive Aircraft Engines(60294-7 is what I have)? Trying to find a more up to date ref than my 1974 copy. In section 3-33 of General Overhaul Procedures for replacement of studs it mentions to install new studs with thread lubricant...

How do I avoid a premature engine teardown again 😭??
I bought an RV-10 in May 2022 with a Lycoming IO540 C4B5 with about 840 hours tach time SMOH. It had been IRAN'd by a major engine shop in 2017 at about 540 hours tach time by the previous owner due to corrosion on the cams/lifters (he had bought it from the builder who stored it 100 yards away...

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
