Riveting bottom skins solo.
Here's how I did my RV8 wings solo. I was in the basement, so I clecoed a piece of scrap to the then, and used it to tied the skin to a rafter and adjusted it after each series of riveting in an L-pattern others have described above.

Replaced brake pads - at correct torque it binds
I replaced my brake pads on my 6a. I fully returned the master cylinder all of the way. However, when I torqued the caliper bolts down all the way, the brakes grab the disk and do not spin. My mechanic told me this is common, and the solution is to slightly back off torque so it can spin.
Has anyone experienced this? Are there spacers I can get to make the caliper slightly wider and not grab the disk?

My First Trailing-Edge…
Hi Gang, First-time builder and First-time poster. So here it goes… I’m fixin’ to close up my RV-14 rudder which leads to riveting the trailing-edge. (Yikes!) With cleco’s as fasteners, the trailing-edge is somewhat wavy. Will this straighten out during the riveting process? Also, between...

Excitement on Climb Out (rough running engine)
Yesterday we had a bit of a break in the weather, so I decided to exercise the -7. All was normal with the run-up except the #2 cylinder was lagging behind the others in EGT/CHT. I've noticed this for a while but everything was running well so no action taken. The takeoff roll was normal as...

Forward pushrod end bearing thread depth?
I've just completed the forward push rod, F-1089. I'm only getting 3/8" of thread depth on the rod bearings when I set it to 37-13/32" as referenced on pg 39-3 figure 3. This seems kind of shallow to me. Can anyone advise, is this normal? I've rechecked and verified the measurements (33" tube)...

Vertical Stabilizer help
Finally started my build when I ran into my first problem I finished clecoing the Vertical Stabilizer and called it a night. The next morning I noticed a small dimple on both sides of the skin where a rib (VS1202) is clecoed. It seems the rib in that area is too tight. I radiused the front...

My new to me 12 did not have the canopy frame covers installed. Although they were provided to me when I bought the plane about a month ago. I don’t have access to the build plans right now so I am asking here what’s involved in installing these? Are they screwed in or held in with adhesive? Are...
