SkyView Primary ADAHRS Module Location

I need to mount a SkyView Primary ADAHRS Module in my RV6A.

Where did you install it ? Was a remote magnetometer required due to interference in that location? (Please post some pictures)

Can I use the RV7 adahrs mount that Van’s sells or it doesn’t fit in a RV6?

What is your experience mounting it in the Dynon tray behind the efis display? Do I still need a remote magnetometer ?

I would like to mount it in the front because it will be much easier to connect it to the pitot system and wire to the Dynon hub but I think the magnetometer won’t work well so close to the panel.

Thanks for your help

I have two 10" Dynon HDX EFS units with an ADAHARS for each one. I mounted them up on the top of the fuselage behind the baggage bulkhead. Yes, you will have to run the pitot tube line to it, but is in the center of the aircraft as they recommend in the installation instructions. Al of the hardware that I used is either aluminum rivets or 300 series stainless steel fasteners, so they don't interfere with the magnetometer. It works great in this location.

My airplane is a -9A, so using the Van's ADAHRS mounting bracket for the Skyview SV-ADAHRS-200/201 may not be applicable to your -6, but I found it to be a useful location and easy to rivet in my airplane. Static line access is right there for a T-connector, although the AoA line and temp-probe wiring need to be routed there too., And getting the cable from the ADAHRS through the tunnel to the panel was painful too. My canopy is a slider and the magnetometer portion of the SV-ADAHRS works great in the behind-the-luggage-bulkhead location, although only when the canopy is closed. It wouldn't calibrate when open.
