Chafing oil dipstick

Anyone had this issue? Mine is chafing a bit just under the 4 qt mark. Didn’t take a picture of it today but saw a similar post on Facebook (attached photo) with more extensive chafing than mine.

Yes. There is a lycoming part no. for a puck that slips about halfway up on the dipstick to keep it from flexing enough to chafe.
Since I’ve never actually seen said part on a lycoming dipstick, they must have been discontinued at some point.
I made one out of UHMW. A 1/2” thick disk about 1/8 in. diameter smaller than the i.d. of the filler neck. The hole drilled in the center was small enough that it was a snug fit to slide it up the dipstick.
It has never moved in 700 hours.

I made my own. Set screw under o-ring holds it in place.

Mine was doing that and had worn pretty well. The rod where it goes through the screw cap was worn. I replaced it with one of the Superior aluminum tube and the machined cap. It is a little longer, or taller, and is easier to get to with the cowl on.
