Depends on how the prop strike was handled.. SB475 or SB533 completed? No neither? What about low time models with prop-strike history. What would demand look like on those?
Engine (lycoming) was fully overhauled, unsure if they rebuilt with old case or not. Refurbished prop. Seller says damage to the main landing gear was fully rebuiltDepends on how the prop strike was handled.. SB475 or SB533 completed? No neither?
No need for a new case as long as it went to somewhere like Divco. When it comes back, it is as good as new.Engine (lycoming) was fully overhauled, unsure if they rebuilt with old case or not. Refurbished prop. Seller says damage to the main landing gear was fully rebuilt
I would say to the informed, it would be a negotiation opportunity. To the uninformed, could be a dealbreaker. What about low time models with prop-strike history. What would demand look like on those?
Should not be a dealbreaker if it can be shown that the repairs have been done properly.I would say to the informed, it would be a negotiation opportunity. To the uninformed, could be a dealbreaker.
Absolutely shouldn't, just talking from the mindset of the uninformed new buyer.Should not be a dealbreaker if it can be shown that the repairs have been done properly.
Unfortunately don’t think will have the timeIt's worth more completed and flying.
Definitely. Not sure the increase would fully compensate the builder for the required sweat equity, though. It's worth more completed and flying.
BTW: I’m looking for a 9A tip up kit or plane. What’s everyone’s view on the market for 9A projects. Mission has changed and debating what to do with current project.
Hi Mike,BTW: I’m looking for a 9A tip up kit or plane.![]()
That looks like an MT prop, which is worth selling separately for several thousand. There isn't really a market for the 13b itself, you might be able to sell it for a little bit on barnstormers. It's a pretty hard sell for people to buy an auto conversion RV, we've reached a point where the lycoming is the most valuable part of the plane.Hi Mike,
At the urging of my wife, I'm considering putting my tip-up RV-9A project on the market as artheritis and age are making climbing up and down from a low winged aircraft somewhat difficult. Wings and empenage are complete and epoxy primed. Lower portion of the fuselage is pretty far along, but I am replacing two frames and some riveting I was unhappy with. I had intended to use a rotary engine in it so I have a Bruce Turrentine professionaly converted, zero-time, Mazda 2 Rotor 13B engine, RWS ECU, engne mount, RWS RD-1C PSRU, custom built aluminum cooling components, additional 13b engines (for spares), a digital TruTrack ADI Pilot II autopilot (new, never mounted), a James Rotary Cowl, two props available (1 wood & 1 aluminum), and several spinners to accomodate prop choice. I also have a bunch of aviation tools purchased for building the project that will also become available once a decision to sell is finalized and if it provokes enough interest.
Regards,
Jack
