Helene dictated that flying was not happening (still, here in Kentucky). But that will not stop me from going to the hangar to clean the soot off the belly.
My dirt-bag, unwashed, backcountry, tail-dragging friends invited me to their annual fly-in at the McFarland strip in the Central Valley.
Of course, the usual debauchery and shenanigans ensued!
Gorgeous sunset, the pizza oven was put to good use, and lots of smack-talk continued to midnight (when the beer/wine ran out).
The next day, they were running out of ”nose dragger” comments, so I gave them a break and headed down to Halter Ranch (89CA) to pick up my Fall wine release. Always love flying over the tasting room on approach.
Alas, time to return to the beach. The view of San Francisco never gets old.

After weeks of rubbish weather we finally managed to get out on Sunday for a fly. Winter was cold and generally average and now that Spring has arrived its still horrible except the temperatures are several degrees warmer.
The "$10 coffee and cake" special at Glentanner was sufficient justification for spending $141.50 for 40 litres of avgas (about 10 gal) to get there. And it was great to sit back and relax in the sun (yes, SUN!!) for a while over a brew.
