Hello all on the RV 4 specific forum. My flying mission has changed and I am looking more and more at the -4. I will be at AirVenture and plan on spending most of my time trying to get to know Vans Air Force peeps.
Currently have a Beech Sundowner that I want to sell first.
I am hoping to make some contacts that may lead me to a -4 that needs a new home.
Working on my tail wheel endorsement as we speak.
Really like this forum. Great info here.

The -4 is indeed a great design.
Take a couple of weeks and read through all the -4 threads. The exercise will answer questions that you don’t know to ask.
It will help you define your specific -4 mission. It will help you understand the capabilities of the various configurations and what the tradeoffs are for your mission. When you start looking in earnest, with cash in hand, you will know better what you are looking at. The -4 likely has more subtle variations and custom touches than any of the vans models.

Thanks to all for the support! Do the different Vans aircraft park by specific model number at Oshkosh, or is it completely random? I have been to AirVenture twice now. My mission at this year's event will be to connect with the Vans community, make some friends, and gather a lot of information. Here's to a great adventure!
 
They will be all over the place in Homebuilt parking/camping. Look for Devin Albrecht and his gang of RV-4s that will likely be together. OSH 2019 was the RV-4 highlight year and we were all together...about 30 of us as I remember. There are some RV specific forums you can see posts for on this site. I am not flying my -4 to OSH this year, but will be there Wed-Fri.

Don’t go see Vince or talk to any of the Rocket owners. Especially those that have owned a -4….your mission might change drastically!
 
My RV-4 , 655BB will be in HBC for the week if you want to check one out. Pretty easy to spot color scheme.

Stop by for a chat. I don't know what I don't know about -4's but having owned the plane since 2018 I've learned enough to be dangerous.
