After kind of a wet summer we finally got some good flying weather. Today I decided to head up to Atlanta for a couple of days in my RV-12. I came into the Atlanta area from the south, headed for PDK - Dekalb Peachtree Airport on the north side of town. I had planned to go around the busy Hartsfield Jackson airport but figured it couldn't hurt to ask to go direct right over the top. Next thing you know I am cleared into the Class B right over the top of the busiest airport in the world! It was a great view and a great thrill playing with the big boys in my little plane.

RE Grounding a Z-14 dual battery configuration in an RV-10
…FMF15E
I used the longeron. The F-1013-R runs from the baggage compartment to the firewall. I fabricated a 1x .125 angle that provided a secure mount for both ground lugs in the aft section of the fuse, this was riveted to the aft end of the longeron.. Then I used the hole in forward section of the longeron that was intended for the forward install of the rudder pedal mounts to attach a cable that connects to my forest of grounds and the firewall and the grounding braid to the engine.
This is like what LR172 posted above, but I wanted to ensure I had a robust mount for the ground cables that would provide a rigid fix. You can see the two holes for each of the two grounds coming off the dual earthX batteries I plan to use.

Spring 2024: people all over the world come to Holland to see the famous Tulips. The Van's Forum has one advantage: the airplane I fly from is in the middle of it (and, to be honest, there is a photo-competition on flower-bulbs). I tried to make the link between the straight lines of flowers and...

From Germany to Oshkosh - Alaska first - RV-8 Skyrunner on Tour 2025
Herman Schiele's uploaded a new video. I don't believe it's posted here yet. He chatted with my wife and me several times at Oshkosh 2 years or so ago. I really didn't know who I was talking with until he told me about crossing the Atlantic in his -8 to get there! Super nice guy. Video...

Rudder skin riveting
I final-drilled all the rudder skin holes and stiffener holes with a #40 drill bit, deburred them, then dimpled them with a 3/32 dye. Squeezing the first couple of AN426AD3-3 rivets gave me 9/64 diameter shop heads with what appears to be at least 3/64 height. But they do not cover the rim of...

Grounding a Z-14 dual battery configuration in an RV-10
I was planning on a dual earthx z-14 style power scheme with a forest of tabs for grounding at the firewall. For those with a similar approach did you run two 4 awg grounds to the forest of tabs or did you tie the grounds together at the batteries a run one 4awg ground wire to the forest of...
