RE Exiting the Cockpit
…RV6_flyer
There is no weldment in the taildragger.
The red grab handles on the windscreen bow is the first thing needed. I made my own before you could purchase aftermarket ones and they were welded on before the airplane flew.
Like Sam, I am getting up in age and it is more difficult to get out of the airplane then it was 25-years ago. I "borrowed" / stole the idea from Keith that he used in his RV-7A. Instead of buying Allan's bar, he made a foot anchor on the floor to help get started out of the seating position. Not my idea and it was stolen from what Keith put in his RV-7A.

Exiting the cockpit
My 71 years young wife is beginning to struggle when exiting my RV-9 right seat. I have seen the bats offered by Aero Splatter, but these are specific for ‘A’ models. Any ideas?

Delaminated windscreen frame
Guys, go easy on me and build quality. When upgrading the avionics of my recently purchased 2013 RV9A, someone leaned on the front top of the windscreen. I had spotted a small horizontal crack before (see second pic) but now 10 cm ripped off vertically. Helpful: 1) has this happened with other...

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
