RE Throttle / Mixture Bracket Suggestions
….terrye
I'm just finished this part of my build, IO-320 Superior cold air sump, Precision servo. I did not use the Vans throttle brackets, instead made my own. I got the dimensions for the bosses on the sump from Aerosport Power, they are at weird angles so be careful. I used the Vans mixture belcrank and hardware and cable bracket, but because of the boss at the front of the sump, I decided to make my own belcrank bracket. The Vans engine cables seem to work, although my mixture cable does not go through the Vans location so it is a little tight but still workable.

I also copied another builder’s idea. I had a machine shop make mine. I’ll see if I can find my plans for this.

RE Home Brewed O2 System
…Majorpayne317641
I did this on my RV-8A and I love it. The OP is using a Bluetooth sensor I did the same. I would never go back! In the summer time flying at 17k and 36F outside is perfection! I was going to write up a post on my permanent/removable configuration but haven’t had the time. The idea is the bulk head connections allow for you to completely remove tank, lines and bracket to allow for full use of baggage area. I can do one if there is interest. Here are the pics.
Future considerations are to add a cockpit selectable blow off valve to vent over board in case of forced landing.

SuperCubDriver Back Home
Back home again !
Departed Wick at 08:45 LT in the morning, ceiling 700 ft. For the next hour flew between 700´ and 3000´. It cleared up near Newcastle where I climbed to FL 095 and picked up TAS. From there the weather was good all the way to Mannheim in Germany where I cleared customs into the EU. Then followed the last short leg of the tour to homebase where I was greeted by friends and clubmembers. Two pilot friends followed me the last miles with their Extra 300 for a low pass before landing. As usual my wife "Miss Shan" and friends prepared snacks, coffee and drinks for the welcome home.

RV10 Section 28-9 Spacer question
Hi, I am looking at these spacers and thinking that, as a sea side resident, some anticorrosion treatment would be good. I would ordinarily scuff and lightly coat with SEM etching primer. Has anyone primed these and encountered stackup issues? Is there a “best” way to treat these spacers...

RV-4 #4175 Fastback Conversion
My 4 is down for a bit for a several little projects, like elevator reskinning due to some cracking, adding a light to the tail, possibly electric trim, fiberglass repair due to some less than perfect fits over the years, etc. While it's down, I decided to make it way worse for time and money...

Throttle / Mixture Bracket Suggestions
We’re running an IO-360-M1S paired with a Superior Cold Air Induction Sump and a Precision EX-5VA1 servo. Before committing, we're wondering if anyone has successfully used the Van’s IO-360 Throttle/Mixture Kit with this configuration. If you've tried it, we'd love to hear how it went—any...

Fuel leak around plug
Flew my RV-10 (IO-540 with dual pmags, 80 hours on engine/plane/plugs) from DFW to TUS last week after getting it painted and some work on cooling (cowl flaps, condition inspection). During that flight, the engine sputtered a couple times, almost felt like the nosewheel was shimmying, would only...

Rudder Trim
Came up with a simple in flight adjustable rudder trim . Used a SS turnbuckle and some AN hardware attached to the passenger rudder pedal. Easy to dial in the ball and quickly removable.

Home Brewed Oxygen System
I am considering an installed, home brewed oxygen system in my RV-10. Any advice or experience you may have is much appreciated. My plan is to install 4 flush oxygen outlets (Aerox) in my overhead console for a convenient plug in of their canulas, no questions here. A one to four oxygen hose...

Photos of Tail Ballast
I'm interested in manipulating the CG of my 8A a bit and I believe the original builder used tail ballast and then later removed it due to feeling heavier in pitch. With an AV 360 and a CS prop, it's always nose-heavy. As it sat when last flying, I need 40-50 pounds of ballast in the baggage...

Another extended weekend trip
The school was on the way, not the slightest detour. A wildfire developed northwest of the school, large cloud, could smell it. The fog at LAX and Torrance disappeared so could fly as planned. Torrance temps at 23C, very nice after having 33C at Buchanan. Over LAX

Modifying the TG-10 heat box for redirecting dumped air
I am in the process of re-installing my engine after a 17 year run, in so doing I am applying a few improvements and modifications. I have an aftermarket TG-10 heat box that is constructed of stainless-steel, but this applies for the TG-10 that most people have installed on their RV. The excess...

Simple question Narco 810 TSO diagram
Helping a friend with a new to him Narco 810 TSO installation. I'm missing something simple (hopefully). The facts: I have the maintenance manual titled 810 TSO / 811 TSO (The 811 is 24v) As you can see, the page says the plug is numbered 1 - 12 on the top and A - N on the bottom. The...

Overhauling an IO360-C1E6 for a RV14
This thread will chronicle my misguided journey in the overhaul of an IO360-C1E6 into my RV14 (taildragger). I will be making updates here as links to my blog for more detail. Post #1 goes into the reasons i chose to go for an overhauled IO360, as opposed to a new IO390 (cost, foreign currency...
