RE Flap switch on throttle
…RV7 To Go
I had the flap switches on the throttle in my 7. Loved it. No looking around for the switch. right there by your thumb when you wanted them. I don't think Andair makes that quadrant any longer but there are other options for the same thing.

RE Do I have to remove gear leg fairings to remove lower cowling?
…rockwoodrv9
I have an A model so it may be different but this is what I did. I have a 3 blade Catto so I had to make a larger cutout than those with a 2blade. I don’t see a value in trying to make the cutout smaller. I also have the chainsaw Skybolt flanges so that makes the cut out need to be larger too.

8A Progress Report …jonbo
Vertical Stab done! It feels great to have an assembly finished. It's so much more fun driving rivets. Although it's really scary the first time doing it on a real skin. No major dents or distasters though. I think I ended up drilling about 10 rivets out total. Hopefully that number goes down as I progress but I took my time and it payed off.
Back to HS land.

RE RV-10 door seal.
…Bberv
Well shows my short observation. I do have a door seal(14 yrs. Old). I just question how affective it is because it is really loud in the cockpit. Any suggestions?

RE Pedal modification I had not heard of ?’
…PaulvS
Here are a couple of pics to illustrate the difference.
On the pilot side there are standoffs, note the gap between the contact on the standoff and the bottom of the brake pedal:

Flap switch on throttle
I am planning to put a flap switch on the throttle of the "Brand S" that I am building. Why you ask? Because it has electric flaps and there is no provision for a Johnson Bar. The ability to vary the amount of flaps going up or down is available without reaching for a panel mounted switch. I...

Do I have to remove gear leg fairings to remove lower cowling?
Hi folks, I’m currently working on spats and wanted to take the cowling off the engine. It occurred to me that it would be difficult to remove the lower cowling without removing the gear leg fairings beforehand due to interference around the gear leg. Is this normal, or is there a technique...

RV-8A Jonbo
Jonbo's RV-8/A Hi Folks. I started this build a couple years ago after finishing the practice kits and toolbox. Then I moved and put it on hold now I'm starting again. Workspace We put some nice lighting in and started getting tools setup. We coated the floor to make it a nice space but sadly...

Pedal modification I had not heard of ?
Yesterday I talked to a new owner of an rv7. He described a popular modification for vans rvs, described a problem of the rudder pedals being nearly vertical and thus uncomfortable for long flight. He suggested the modification is very common and does something to have the top of the pedals...

Just to be sure... SB-000036
Hi, Folks! I think I know what to do, but just wanted to be 100%. I ordered the SB-000036-KIT a while back and I was going to install it, but I thought I'd use the latest version of the plans instead of the SB documentation. I noticed DWG 3 seemed to be updated to include the SB pieces so I...

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
