RV-7A #73840 Status Update
LH Wing and tank slowly coming together

Trip Update: SuperCubDriver
Now Oshkosh 2025 is history already. I flew there on Wednesday before the show and sure enough there was a heavy storm in the evening. I sat in my tent for two hours soaking up the leaking water with a sponge, looks like I need a new tent for the next event.
The show and everything was just great again and I believe I don´t need to express it here. I made some nice shots during the night airshow on Saturday which I share here.
On Sunday I flew to Lake Norman where Perry invited me to stay at his home. Today flew my plane to Greenville Downtown for repair of my canopy crack, Perry picked me up in his C-172 for the night and tomorrow all will be done and ready for the next flights. I call him a good friend.

RE: F-01455 subpanel nutplates: where are they used?

Yup, to secure heating cables. Also, be prepared, depending on how you mount your avionics, you're going to need a few more. In my case, I put the main bundle for my avionics along the bottom of F-01455. It's been quite awhile since, but below is a picture I shot during the process.

RV-7A #73840
Well, I've officially started building an RV-7A I'm the third owner of this Kit and if you haven't read Vans warnings about buying older kits, particulary the bit about unboxed, original packaging you should. When I unboxed the kit for the first time in its 14 year life, this is the result of...

Another extended weekend trip
The school was on the way, not the slightest detour. A wildfire developed northwest of the school, large cloud, could smell it. The fog at LAX and Torrance disappeared so could fly as planned. Torrance temps at 23C, very nice after having 33C at Buchanan. Over LAX

Decent sized cargo door. Passenger version at their booth. Nope no fuel required from the truck. Maybe soon you will need to request an electric hookup spot in HBC to charge your electric plane. I see lots of extension chords running up and down the rows.

rv-10 rudder trim
I've searched and not found quite what I'm looking for, mostly posts from several years ago. I just don't like the looks of the hinge on the back of the rudder for electric trim and would like to do something that looks more "factory". Has someone already invented this "wheel"? I'm probably...

F-01455 subpanel nutplates: where are they used?
I have 2 K1000-3 nutplates on the bottom flange of F-01455 subpanel… can’t find where they are used. Any ideas? They’re called out at KAI 35-05 for installation:

Wheel pants alignment slightly off
With everything lined up to the wheels and brackets with proper spacing on top of the wheel it appears my wheel pants are off by about .75” fore/aft and about 5/8” up/down. I cannot figure out where this difference is coming from but adjusting them to be even would be a pretty significant change...

Op63 (remote canopy release) and Section 59 (power module)
I’m planning out where to put my remote canopy release handle, and I had initially thought the bottom of the power module would be a good spot. However, it seems my F-14188A Power module front plate is not the same as the one depicted in OP63? (It’s the same as in Section 59). It’s like the...
