Great flight home to KLDJ from a great week! This was my first time flying in. The Fisk arrival was a blast. I loved the excitement of being part of that complex machine, with those awesome ATC people. Very impressive stuff! Flying the Chicago shoreline was a highlight, both coming and going.

RE: FMEA - RV14 Dual Alt / Dual BATT / SDS EFI
Not unless there is a need.
The engine bus and essential bus would be on one battery, the main bus (secondary power feeds) and starter on the other.
Normal start highlighted in green.
The wire sizes would support starting with both batteries if I opened the x-tie. (Highlighted in red) The GAD27 Keep alive would keep all the main items going throughout the start.

RE: FLAP HINGE PIN - Vote remove middle lugs or end run through aileron bracket.
I have no reason to think that either method wouldn't work fine.
On my 7 I split them in the middle simply because sometimes it's harder to get one long pin to feed through a piano hinge than two shorter ones. It took all of about 20 minutes to throw this setup together.

Empennage Horizontal Stabilizer HS-00003-1 edge hole
Drilled this as best I could with a 12 inch bit from HS-810-1 through HS-702 out to HS-00003-1 where I wound up with this bad edge hole. Any chance this could be fixed? Is it worth emailing Vans?

SOLVED - Bad pump, bad pressure sender, or something else?
I've seen some small variations in fuel pressure since first flight, but on the way back from Oshkosh the variations became larger and more rapid. The engine ran flawlessly for the entire trip. Turning on the electric boost pump moved the average pressure up as you'd expect, but the fluctuations...

Baffle Mod
I went with a mini-duct per a later DanH post ..it was easy to make and gives more cross sectional area for the air to get through. YMMV, but my #3 has no cooling issues. I did a similar thing on the front of #2, tucked behind the IO-360 snorkel. The only cooling mod I had to do after...

Decent sized cargo door. Passenger version at their booth. Nope no fuel required from the truck. Maybe soon you will need to request an electric hookup spot in HBC to charge your electric plane. I see lots of extension chords running up and down the rows.

Builders near Waterloo Region
Good Morning, Looking to see if there are any builders in or near Waterloo Region that wouldn't mind helping set some rivets on wings. I'm getting to the point were a second set of experienced hands will be needed as I'm running out of reach. I'm willing to return the favor on your build if...

FMEA - RV14 Dual Alt / Dual BATT / SDS EFI
I thought i would share the FMEA i have been working on for my RV-14. It will be an electrically dependent aircraft. This was a pretty useful process - it highlighted some operational checks i realised i needed to add (some at each flight, some monthly (occasionally) and some at the 100...

What say you true me of genius. :) I am leaning towards removing the three lugs, one lug on hinge wing side and two on hinge flap side.

That looks awesome! Do you have a build log? I'm curious as to how you did your windows. Hi Brett No build log but I have a bajillion pics if you want something specific. The windows are just done per plans except I used West G-Flex instead of the Lord adhesive. Two layers of glass over...
