Hope you had a nice weekend and got to spend some time with your RV plane and/or project. Extra paper routes kept me from the RV this Sat/Sun. It’s there in the hangar mid annual - I have a couple days here in a bit to give it some attention hopefully. Looking forward to that!!! Just a heads up, *might* not be a Tuesday edition (aforementioned extra paper route).
On to the newest RV news cycle, and have a wonderful Monday….

SuperCubDriver Trip Update
This week in Page I went flying every day. Tuesday I went up to Skypark just beside Salt Lake City were I was invited to do an oil change. While I was there we did a short 3ship around the area. My RV-8 was loaded and it was hot and so the two Rockets had easy play to keep up.

Here’s a pic of my tail cone stored up on the top shelf of the shop and waiting for me to get the fuse done. I finally got my shop finished and am practicing my rivet work before I start. Kit was purchase with empennage at 95% and fuse at 5%.

7A Status Update …JeremyL
It’s about a year since my last update on here. I’ve come a long way since just getting into my hangar. Panel is in and tested(works great), engine was received and installed, lights are awesome and bright! Currently battling with the cowling and next is plenum & front windshield.

RV-14 Question …etocr
I’m confused by Step 5 on 9-24.
"Step 5: Apply tank sealant to the region where the E-00907-L-1/-R-1 Rear Spars meet the skins, in the outboard bay of each elevator. Follow Page 09-20 Steps 7 through 9. Insert the bent tube through the lightening holes of the E-00902-L-1/-R-1 Front Spar in order to reach the front of the Rear Spar.
Didn’t I already do this on Page 9-20? What does “in the outboard bay of each elevator ” mean? And why would I access rear spar thru the lightning holes in the front spar if this was accomplished on Page 9-20?
Thanks!

Another extended weekend trip
The school was on the way, not the slightest detour. A wildfire developed northwest of the school, large cloud, could smell it. The fog at LAX and Torrance disappeared so could fly as planned. Torrance temps at 23C, very nice after having 33C at Buchanan. Over LAX

SE2 I remember back when you were building your shop. Great to see the steady progress. A suggestion as I finish my 7, do everything you think you need to do in the tail cone before riveting on the top skin. Static air install and tubing run. Mount possibly for ELT. Wiring to rear light ...

Cotter pin on axle nut issues
Tire, tube, and brakes worked on by a very experienced mechanic. He was unable to get the cotter pin through the pictured part, said to gently bend the pin, get it mostly though, then finesse through the final holes. He said not to hammer as it would bend the pin. So for now the cotter pin is...

Wing root fairing to fuse trim
What is everyone using for rubber trim between the wing root fairing and the fuselage. I don't see anything in the KAI referring to that. I remember using a rubber channel with a flange against the fuse for my -8. Thanks in advance,
