Got the first two solo flights done in my -4 yesterday. I've owned it since February and it was an exercise in patience and going here and there to get brushed up on the tailwheel skills again and doing transition in an -8. The ferry pilot stopped by and we did several circuits in his -6 in advance. He took off after me and flew my wing, landed before I did, and said landing looked like a sore-footed butterfly touching down. Ag Pilots do have a way with words. This is gonna be a fun challenge in flying this little plane well and safely. Now the learning and fun begin! Thanks to you all for your help. And Yeah, I'm working on the RV grin. It really comes naturally after a few minutes...be safe!

this is what i see during runup - all EGsT raise during mag check. Interesting the #1 raises a lot more with the right mag off.
However on the takeoff roll #4 has the hottest EGT and CHT raise which is not detected during the 1800rpm runup (very similar to the OPs problem)

Stabilator Cable Tension
I am confused, AGAIN! KAI section 38iS page 17 refers to control cables are to be tensioned to 35-46 lbs. It also includes a note referencing the thermal effect on cable tension and says the recommended 35-45 lbs setting is for 70 deg.F. I have looked at several charts (Like the one below...

Number 4 CHT
O-360, CS, RV6A, 1400 hours. Last two flights the CHT on number 4 cylinder started running 20 degrees hotter than ever before. EGT is a little hotter. I switched the probes from 2 to 4 and I don’t think it’s the probe. Replaced intake gasket and connection pipe. Compression check cold 75/80...
