The OVC was forecast to get to a height where I could do some TnGs by 10am Thu, but it didn’t burn off fast enough for my window of opportunity,. Many sims this weekend, so maybe in a few days we’ll try again. Nature of the hobby this time of year here. Wiped the RV down a little, checked the oil, and straightened up some stuff as the alternate - still good!
Wishing you and yours a happy, safe and RV-filled weekend.

Per the plans; pre-bending the hose clamp then carefully cinching it down around that 5" SCAT tube about the oil cooler plenum flange, worked out just fine - it has remained secure as of 75hrs hobbs. Oil temps on my IO-390 EXP-119 Thunderbolt are running just under 200degF

baffle/Oil Cooler Crack Update …echostar7
The repair we decided to go with was replacing the cracked baffle for #4 with a new one from vans and adding an additional .032 angle to stiffen the #4 baffle, crossing my fingers that the repair lasts. It was not possible to use all solid rivets for the repair due to access issues.

Securing SCAT Tube to Oil Cooler on RV-14 w/EXP119?
Hi All, I'm building a taildragger RV-14 with the EXP119 engine. For some odd reason Van's used an irregular octagon shape on the oil cooler flange to secure the 5" SCAT tube instead of a circular flange as they did on the intake side of the oil cooler duct. The problem is securing the SCAT...

EZ-WIRE Safety Wire Drill Jig (Take 2)
Here are drill jigs I make for cross drilling hex bolt heads/shanks. Yeah - I know they are easy to buy, but sometimes I just don't have one (only) of what I need, and the shipping from ACS (or other) is too much, so ... HFS

Seat skin overhang question
I’m drilling the holes into the top of the outer seat ribs for the seat skins. The directions say to leave .032 of the rib flange sticking out. I’ve done this, however, I don’t think that’s possible on the aft end of the seat skin in the last couple holes where it’s close to the F705 bulkhead...
