RE: Elevator Fairing Tip

I'm not saying his is the only way to do it, but I laid several plies of wet glass around the weight then let the fwd end of the fairing overlap the glass and then filled it it with micro. Here are a couple of in process pictures.

Brian Burke (RV-12) brian ‘at’ bpburke ‘dot’ com
…has some software he’s written.
My name is Brian Burke, and I’ve created LSRM.ai to help aircraft owners and mechanics find maintenance and operation information quickly and easily. After becoming the proud owner of an SLSA RV12iS last year, I got into the maintenance side this year, completing both LSRM-A and Rotax training. Through this process, I learned both about the extensive maintenance documentation available, particularly for LSA and experimental aircraft (maintenance manuals, SIs, SDs, SBs, KAIs, etc.), but also the challenges in organizing and searching through this documentation for each specific aircraft to answer general or detailed questions. To help solve this challenge both for my own use and for others, I built this software product. You can view an intro video and signup to try it out at https://lsrm.ai/ All plans include a 30 day free trial. It’s under active development, so I’d love to hear your feedback and suggestions on making it better and more useful.

Elevator fairing tip
I am currently working a RV 7. I am looking for ideas on how to fit and attach the elevator fairing to the counter weight. The directions say to epoxy to the counter weight but that will leave the surface wider than the HS tip. Any help is appreciated!

Should I fill this gap?
On my fuselage, the side skin and bottom skin did not come together very well at the very front where they meet at the firewall. The gap is about 1/32" wide. I planned to cover it from the inside with a small dab of sealant of some kind but figured I would get some more opinions. Should I...

Wing Rib Part Number Query
On my plans for the wings on my RV-8A, I note for the rib part numbers the inner most non tank rib is labelled W-408-L-1. I do not have this rib, nor was it noted on my inventory list. I do however have an W-00708-L Splice Rib. I am presuming this is correct, but I wanted to check to be sure...

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
