Pushing Monday a little early. Gave my cold to the wifey - making amends in nurse mode.
Hope you had a nice RV weekend!

I'm looking at section 36, 56, and 58 to do the servo bracket installs while I have the tailcone free before the big join. When I rivet the yaw servo mount (F-14189A/B) to each other and F-01407-L/R, will I be able to remove the bellcrank plate (F-14139)? I'm wondering if others can let me know if that's true, because I'd like to just do the servo bracket installs, but not all the hardware and the actual bellcrank at this point. From what I can tell with the nut plates, F-14139 is removable otherwise. It looks like the F-14139 could slide forward from under F-1489A and come out to work on later, but I don't want to get myself into a bind and not be able to do that.
If anyone has done this, or has removed the bellcrank mount at a later point, or has any suggestions, please let me know.

We were successful in transporting the RV-14 kit over 300 miles this week! Our success was largely due to a great loading team, wheel dollies, lots of bubble wrap, numerous cargo straps, and 60 moving blankets. We wrapped the loose parts with bubble wrap, then layered the flat parts with moving blankets, then bagged and boxed the little items. The two long crates fit forward in the truck on each side. We bolted the QB wings into the rack, and secured it between the two boxes (nice fit, btw). The partially constructed horizontal stabilizer was strapped to one of the wall rails for safe transport. The QB fuselage fit very well between the two wheel well humps on an engine shipping crate. We added the rest of the items, strapped everything down and drove carefully. I-94 in southern Wisconsin is pretty rough for about two hours. There was no speed I could find that relived the fore-aft resonance which may be attributed to the 26' truck wheelbase. A great success and big thanks to Chris and Morgan!

The instructions call for a 1-1/4” spacer on top of the wheels to be adjusted based upon wheel diameter and type. My question is how little clearance is acceptable?
I am using Wilkerson retreads and the 1-1/4” is way too much. 3/4” is better, but I would like to go down to 1/2”. Thoughts?
1st photo is 1-1/4” spacer
2nd photo is 3/4” spacer
Lots of trimming left to do I know, but want to make sure I don’t take it too low.

I bought #55 year ago and have been doing a lot of maintenance and redoing the panel. Getting close to finishing her. Anyone happy with the exhaust hangers (supports) your using? Need to replace the two I have. They are trash.
Thanks, John.

I've been slowly converting the RV7a I bought from here to be a good IFR machine. Next up, Pitot Heat.
I have a Dynon Pitot Tube with AoA and I decided to start poking around to T-shirt size my next project and to my surprise when I opened to access hole I found quite a lump of goop on the fittings. I was hoping this would be a "quick" swap out and re-use the old fittings, but now it's looking like a lot of goop to clean and hope I can still reuse the ones here. I think the goop is some fire resistant Permatex.
What's the reason for having it over the fittings? Is this potentially...

Instructions state I’m to align 816, Cockpit Rail so that it’s flush against the upper longeron.
As you can see in the pictures, it’s about a 1/16th from the edge at the spar junction point, and no ability to move or adjust at this point.
As it moves to the ends, both forward and back, it tapers nicely to align right on the edge.
Is this as expected?
Do I squeeze / clamp where I can to minimize the gap, or eliminate the gap, and don’t worry about the 1/16th at the 804 bulkhead junction?
