Apologies for being a little tardy on the Monday push - over the weekend extra paper routes ran long. My goal for this week is to go out to the airport at least once and fly my RV for 30 minutes - Tuesday looked promising until I saw the forecast gusting 30kts 0900. Gonna play it by ear… ;^)
Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

First flight
Finally, after seven years plus of trial and tribulations, N199LG took its maiden flight on 10/25/2025! This has literally been a childhood dream of mine to build my own airplane. I have to first thank my wife, Lucy, for encouraging me in this project and providing me the inertia to finish it...

Brake Issues
Can someone help diagnose a braking issue I am having? I am hoping this is a relatively easy fix that I can do on my own without taking another trip to the mechanic and spending $500. If you watch the video I took, you will hear the unholy screeching that my right brake is making, it also lacks...

TS Flightlines/Aircraft Specialty Does it Again!
Monday I pulled out some unused (but old….like 15 years….) Aeroquip -8 metal-jacketed rubber hose and a handful of re-usable hose fittings I had on hand, and started fitting the oil cooler hoses on the Rocket. Tuesday I finalized the ends and lengths , taking a couple of pictures with metal...

T-00712A-2 Platenut Timing
Good evening! Currently assembling the wing skeleton for the -8 and I am wondering if there’s any reason not to attach the platenuts for the T-00712A-2 angle to the aft side of the main spar right now, when access is easy, rather than waiting until the manual suggests, after the main ribs are...

HS1004-bending 9 degree angles
Page 8-7 of the plans says to bend two of the HS 1004 parts to a 9 degree angle. There are some general directions, how worried should I be about precision? How do I do this for precision? Thank you.

RV4 exhaust/intake clearance issue
I have a Vetterman 4 pipe exhaust on a 0-320. On cylinder #1, the clearance between the exhaust pipe and the intake manifold seems very close. The exhaust pipe is only about 1/2 inch from the intake pipe coupling. Not even sure there is enough room for a heat shield. Wondering whether I should...
