Got to fly the -6 for a half hour on Saturday (windy but fun) before other commitments. Sunday was part time sim, VAF and its assorted emails slash accoutrements, and studying for upcoming King Air 350 recurrent. Spent a couple hours typing up a first draft of a minimalist limitations study card, with the goal being ‘can I cram seventy one flash cards into one’. The engine grid at right was done a year ago - you’ll recognize a 104 and 135 (and 110 outlet). My brain is strange, I freely admit. Developing….. Wish I had thought of this method 5 years ago when I started this part time side hustle.
I’m guessing something like this will be worked up for my RV and taped to the panel eventually.
Hope you had a nice RV-filled weekend.

Son texted and asked if we had a shirt of his (he left it over Christmas holiday). Did you know there is a site (https://www.ransomizer.com/) that lets you generate a ransom note? What I sent…a.k.a. how I tricked him into having lunch with us. dr

F-14112 Plate Covers with optional Flush Screws
I took the option to have flush #6 screws in the two F-14112 plates, dimpling the skin and F-01486A with a No. 6 dimple die to accommodate the no. 27 hole called out on 10-14, Step 11. Now on 10-20, it calls for using 8X K-1100-06 nutplates for the option. It appears in 10-20 Figure 2 that...

Fuselage skin replacement
Anyone with experience replacing the aft side skin f-773 and aft bottom skin f-778? I have a small dent and wrestling with repair verses skin replacement. I'm concerned more problems could develop by skin removal. Kinda like open heart surgery for something a stent could rectify...

Rudder Trailing Edge, Part Duex
Hi Gang, You may recall that I might have "over-breaked" the rudder's trailing edge. https://vansairforce.net/threads/my-first-trailing-edge%E2%80%A6.231820/#post-1812422 I did what some suggested and prepped a couple of pieces of angle iron to clecko to the trailing edge. As you can see, I...

Help me understand this instrument approach procedure
While out practicing some approaches today, had a situation occur that hadn't happened to me before - hoping the hive mind can explain. RNAV 30 HAF chart below. IAF is SAPID, IF is JUMDA, FAF is WOHLI. Garmin GPS175. Loaded the approach and had choice of VECTORS or SAPID. Chose SAPID. Went...

Mags eating spark plugs The reason that magnetos eat spark plugs is because they are low voltage, high current ingnition devices. The result is that more electrons are passed over the gap during each spark relative to a high voltage, lower current electronic ignition. When electron flow between...

Flap actuator rod end came unscrewed - how should it be connected?
On my landing roll I was raising flaps and heard a loud clunk. I investigated, and saw that the rod end for the flap actuator came unscrewed. Does someone have a photo of how this should be assembled with safety wire?

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
