Had 2 free hours Wed a.m. to *maybe* fly before the gaps in the schedule filled, but it was 28*F and gusting 25. Freely admit I’m not Wisconsin and Minnesota cold weather tuff <g>. I sat in the car with the laptop watching a few brave souls work the pattern while I tended to VAF and made calls. Not much RVing going on in N.TX Wednesday, I’m afraid. Hope it’s a little warmer where you are. Have a nice Thursday.

Webb ELT Antennae Mounting Data Point
I suspect there are a few others out there that mounted this way.

fixnflyguy Baffling Install Method
I do squared off corners with an overlap, then "stitch" with a couple pop rivets top-coated with RTV. keeps them rigid and sealed. As others mentioned, the curved bulkheads require some creativity to get them rolled inward as they curve around. I typically make a cardboard template which forms much like the baffle material, and when I'm happy with fit, transfer to the rubber.

Jesse23 Cylinder #6 baffle modification
I found a 4” 60° silicone elbow and put a 4” velocity stack on the engine side to reduce flow to oil cooler and help #6. i know the stack is designed to speed up the air, but the opening is smaller than the 4” opening and tapers to a smaller dia inside the blue elbow. In addition, the velocity stack pic looks like it’s coming into the engine compartment, but it actually is going inside the blue elbow. it worked. My oil temp was fine, so robbing a little cooling here was fine. #2 & #6 are still the hottest, but the total spread is <25° on all CHT’s.
I climb out 115/120 even in FL summer, with CHT’s <385°.

ELT Antennae Mounting
Hi all, I recently mounted my ELT antennae in my RV8. I didn't like the location/antennae mounted in the empennage so I wanted to try to mount mine in the cockpit above the rear seater's shoulder. I got it all installed and was a bit proud until I thought about the p-clamps themselves. Will the...

Baffling clean up
Routinely overlooked with carbed RVs...failure to seal at the air box inlet raises pressure in the lower cowl. Cylinder cooling is all about deltaP, upper cowl and lower cowl.

Cylinder #6 baffle modification
I see a number of folks have reported higher cylinder #6 temps. That got me wondering has anyone done a modification to the Cylinder #6 baffle that is similar to the Cylinder #5 baffle that folks have done utilizing the RV-14 baffle modification. This provides more space between the aft-most...

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
