Show us a pic of your FINISHED RV-10

Finished Jan 2020, been flying too much to post. N314JN took 2 years to build. Every day but Sunday. What a joy to build and fly.

South Florida Sport Aviation provided the center and overhead consoles and upholstered side panels. All fit very well right out of the box. Very comfortable xc airplane.

Airworthiness and First Flight!

Another RV10 takes to the skies!! After a long journey with ups and downs (pun intended), we kept on going to the finish. Still a number of hours to get through in Phase 1 but a visible end as we finalize the last "bits". Special thanks to EVERYONE that continues to help along the way and it certainly takes a team and experience to help get it done right. Thanks again to DAR Arnold Holmes’ who was very detailed and thorough - we learned a lot! Thank you for the assistance from our family, the contributors on this forum, the great suppliers, Van's Aircraft, Jessie Saint, Zach Soles, Galo Ortiz, Josiah House, Bo Feldman and your outstanding teams at Saint Aviation and ITEC. Amazing how much talent and knowledge is available from the team if you need help. THANK YOU!!

Safe flying!

Dave and Andrew (and wife and entire family who contribute so much)
Dues happily paid through 2022

Congrats!

Congrats Kluzaks on such a huge milestone! Looking forward to meeting up for some flying!

The change from VP200 to ACM and new Cockpit took a bit longer than planned but now we are back in the air again :)

Calkins RV-10

Completed the project in June, 2020 and Phase 1 fly off completed in July 2020. Since then, we’ve flown over 200 hours to destinations all across the country. Finally got the plane out of the paint shop (Jonathan @ Evoke Aviation in Gadston AL…extremely satisfied w his work!) so I’d say it’s 99 % complete (are you every really done?). Just a few minor interior final touches to go.
The plane is an absolute pleasure to fly and I’m always thinking of places to go and things to do.

Completed the project in June, 2020…

I’ve been lurking for a while, but I finally made an account just so I could say how much I like your RV-10!

It really is gorgeous, I love the paint and trim, and it’ll be an inspiration when I finish saving for my own! 👍

Waiting on the DAR to come out again tomorrow or Friday and let me fly....

Beautiful! Congratulations!

Is the black detail a fairing for a parachute line? (I don't want to start the debate again, but I will say that my family is strongly pro-parachute so that's the end of the story as far as I'm concerned).

Yes. The black accent that swoops under the door covers a fairing for one of the straps for the BRS parachute.

Evoke finished up my paint!

N4647Z is an airplane!

I've been working on this project since 2009. 14 Years! (Life gets in the way.) With the help of Stein Air (panel and avionics), Geoff Combs and Aerosport products (interior, seat upholstery, overhead console and many other things), TS Flightlines, Tom Swearengen (numerous hoses and fuel lines), a Local auto painter for the paint work, Scheme Designers for the design and my friend Lew Gallagher who helped me with numerous fiberglass and paint questions. Vic Syracuse was a big help guiding me through the certification process. (Local DAR-T was Tom Koeberger.) Lycoming Thunderbolt IO540D4A5 with Hartzell propeller. Airworthiness was issued early July and first flight a few weeks later. I'm now 18 hours into Phase 1 testing. My experience has been, fly a little then fix a little. It's a process. I expect to complete all the test cards by 35 hrs or so?

Flies great, straight, wings level with the usual RV-10 performance and handling. A joy to fly!

It looks fabulous. If I were you I would fly it with the wheel pants on. I found that it keeps the chts down during break in

What Bill said x 100.

There is no justifiable reason for flying without them and there are plenty of good reasons to fly with them.

Parade Rest.

Lots pf pretty -10s lately y'all.

The landing gear fairings are still in work. Fit, trim, adjust then try again. (It’s a process) It’s one thing I didn’t absolutely need to get it flying. I’m planning to put them on soon ( in primer) and finish phase 1 with them on. This should identify any issues before paint and give me performance data with them on.

N906EL out of the paint shop

N906EL ("Elle") received her airworthiness on March 17th, 2023. First flight was completed on March 21st. After finishing the test flights, she's been flown all over the western US including a few flights to the Midwest! 200 hours in 9 months.

Elle recently emerged from Fulltron's paint shop in Springfield, MO. Many thank to Marlin, Dan and Davey for the great work. Paint scheme is the work of Craig at Scheme Designers who was an absolute pleasure to work with. Colors are Laser Blue and Bright Silver which, coincidentally, happen to match one of the factory RV-12iS SLSA schemes. (I might have picked out those colors :) ) Panel is courtesy of SteinAir. They made the process easy!

Lisa and I will be enjoying our new Retirement Vehicle as we travel the country over the next few decades!

Second photo is courtesy of Aric Krause, a very talented aviation photographer!

Congratulations Eric - looks awesome!

First flight was Mar 31 2023, and I took her down to paint after flying the 40 off in June. Took me almost 8 months to paint it, but I think it was well worth it. No help on the design either, just pen and paper. The colors really ended up popping. Gonna miss sun n fun, but hopefully make osh.
