RV7 Grey Leather Seat Covers For Sale - Scam Explanation

I posted on here some seat covers for sale a few months ago. First off I still have them if anyone is interested.

Secondly, I had to leave unexpectedly for a work trip and was gone for an extended period of time. When I returned my account had been blocked. It took weeks to get a hold of Doug to get reinstated. So this is my first time logging in, in a long time.

In the meantime, someone got scammed. The scammer did not use this account - Doug can confirm I did not log in at all during the period that someone was scammed. I am guessing that the user B1 was contacted offline and didn’t do his due diligence. But it was definitely not me.

I just wanted to follow up on this. I am sorry someone got ripped off but PLEASE FaceTime before sending money. Even then it’s not always 100% but without that you have nothing. Make them show their DL so you have an address - something.

Back to the sale - I still have the RV-7 leather seat covers for sale. These are really nice quality. Some of these photos don’t show color well. They are a very standard light gull grey.

Funny you mention asking for a driver's license as a way of confirming legitimacy. I came across a scammer years ago who presented a very convincing fake ID. I was able to track down the person whose identity he had assumed, and he was relieved to finally learn why so many disgruntled people had been contacting him and accusing him of scamming them. Overall, something just felt off, but these scammers are getting good. Anyway, I agree with the FaceTime method and also highly recommend shelling out the 3% fee for PayPal/Venmo Goods & Services. Glad to see Doug got things sorted out on your end. GLWS

Also, my neighbor still has a black set exactly like these and if someone wanted black instead he would trade for mine.

i would discourage anyone from using a DL in these cases. While not as devastating as a SSN, a DL number is a key identification tool and will allow thieves access to help steal your identity or at least apply for credit in your name.
