Rv-8 copilot EFIS

Just finished modifying AF-3500 EFIS for the back seat in my rv8

Nicely done. I like the way it folds up when not needed. I don’t know what is planned for wire management but I was concerned that Bigfoot would catch a wire getting in/out of the plane. I ran mine thru the backrest tube.

That looks almost exactly like Danny King’s RV-8 set up for the backseat EFIS. Beautiful work!
 
What was the AFS 3500 depth before and after you modified it?
The afs3500 used to be about 5.5" plus the connectors to the back 2nd photo shows how much i removed

I found an Aera 660 here on the forum and decided to mount it on the back of the front seat back. The installation turned out well and had a pilot in the back seat to try it out. It receives Bluetooth from the GDL-39 3D and so far the Adhars is transmitting data to the 660 and so far seems pretty stable. It does precess just a little but corrects itself and overall it’s a good setup.

I think I may have also posted this somewhere else on the forum.
