Rotax service notice

I finished mine in 2016, it appears the serial numbers are all much newer than mine. My reduction unit is original, I suppose if you have a newer replacement you could be affected.

I am definitely affected. Kit delivered last August and I just hung my engine two weeks ago. With this being my first ASB, can someone clarify for me: On a non-certified ROTAX 912iS aiming for an E-LSA registration, I am technically allowed to do the ASB myself, correct?
If so, I am thinking of checking for the oil spray nozzle and hex screw myself. If they are in place, I follow the ASB and close the lid as per Heavy Maintenance Manual.
If the Hex should be missing, I would start looking for a certified mechanic.
Can anyone comment, if that is a legal/legit option?

Legally (in the USA - don't know about Germany) anyone can perform maintenance on an experimental including ELSA.

However, complying with the Rotax warranty on the 912iS is another concern.
