Rocket style air intake

Anybody have a RV-4 with Horizontal Fuel injection? Preferably with the Superior cold air sump? I would love to figure a way to use the Rocket type “smile” air inlet like this:IMG_0094.jpeg

That looks like the Harmon intake vice the F1 intake.
James Aircraft made the internal fiberglass duct that connects to the HRII cowl.
On my HRII it took some shaping of the internals.
Here’s a thread that will give some ideas on sourcing Harmon ducting:
I think scsmith has a duct for a conical filter that you could start with. You could lay up your own smile shape on the intake end.
Good Luck!

Are you looking for that specific aesthetic, or ar you looking for the best performance? Look to see what Dave Anders does on his 4…. Hard to beat that for low drag and high pressure recovery.

Here’s another thread that addresses efficiency of the specific type of setup the OP is asking about.
Since he’s looking at an RV-4 installation, will the undersized filters discussed be an issue?
I too am curious if the Rocket smile has been done on a -4. It does look good.
