Removing Painted Sunshield from Canopy?

I am not sure when there was a craze (early 2000's?) but I have seen a few RV's with painted Canopies. My 9A Builder must have caught the bug back in the day and it has the canopy/baggage glass painted and I am not a fan.

Does anyone know if there's a way to remove a large amount of paint off the canopy?

I have checked the threads and I saw one that suggested lacquer thinner and a plastic razor blade. That made a lot of sense for a small area but I am looking at removing almost 6sqft of paint off the top of the canopy. I would hate to remove/replace the canopy and baggage compartment glass.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I removed a gallon of paint spilled on a canopy by sanding with ever finer grits of wet or dry paper.
