Reconfiguring my panel

Garmin SL40 has bit the dust. I’m installing a Dynon 760 remote transceiver. Anyone know of a source for my faux wood grain? I have grown to like it over the years!

What material are the panels that are on there? That will help narrow down the search.

Good luck.

You can try Metro Restyling, I have used their 3M CF vinyl on my panel. Lots of wood grain choices. Don't forget the 3M Primer 94 Dauber Applicator.

Or, now's the time to go with real wood veneer. That would look and feel great. Our camper has a real wood interior (no vinyl) and we love it - you can sense it when you're inside.

I think you’ll find looking for burl instead of grain will get you what you are looking for.

You can get real wood or vinyl with adhesive backing. Real wood and finishes are lovely but don’t tolerate extreme temperature differences (expansion / contraction) you will get with a clear bubble canopy in the sun.

Amazon is an easy place to start.

Have you considered a Garmin GTR205 or Trig TY96? The are the same size as an SL40 and would need no panel mods...
