EAA Chapter 822 (Wetumpka, Alabama) has 85 JROTC students visiting 08A for Young Eagles flights on Saturday, April 26th, at 08A. We're expecting a few USAF officers from the Air War College (with personal aircraft) and several pilots from the BHM area, plus pilots from our own chapter. Still, I'm concerned with having enough aircraft to fly them all.
So, how about it? You were going flying anyway, so how about joining us for the day? If you've never done a Young Eagle event with JROTC students, believe me, they are a delight as compared to the general population. And it would be a lot of fun if a bunch of RV's invaded our happy little airport.
For those not familiar, the pilot requirements are simple. Be up to date on all the usual currency items, carry $100,000 per seat liability, and complete both the online training and basic background check as a part of EAA’s Youth Protection Policy. It only takes a few minutes online: https://www.eaa.org/eaa/youth/youth-protection-policy-and-program. When flying a Young Eagle per the above, you're automatically covered up to $1 million.
Reply here or in private. Sure would appreciate the help. I know the kids will too.
