I wish I could explain how it happened but, unfortunately, I didn't notice the problem until after I un-clamped it and finished the riveting. After doing two rudders, four elevators, and one flap, I somehow messed up my trailing edge. I think it may have to do with the fact that I had to span two workbenches to clamp down the trailing edge. I did level everything and used a string line along the trailing edge so I'm still pretty baffled about how I pulled this off.
Please see the photo below. There is about a 1/8" gap at about the center of the flap when lining a straight edge along the trailing edge. 1/8" is the maximum width of the gap as shown in the photo. Do I have any opportunities to fix this now that the sealant is cured and the rivets are in? The photo is taken to make it look as bad as possible but I honestly did not notice until I really glanced down the finished product.
