Just remember, electricity has to move in a complete circle, from the + side, through the device, and on to the - side. Any electrical device works this way.

It will get easier.

Just to be clear to those who will follow and ask the same question. Connect 12 volt (+) to the Blue wire and the (-) to the Brown wire to extend the Flap Motor. Reverse wires to retract. Mine drew about 0.7-0.8A.

A 9-volt battery also works.
