Missing screw hole on canopy skirt

Has anybody noticed a screw hole is missing on the canopy skirt as compared to the plan? While preparing for canopy fairing, I noticed my skirts (both sides) don't have the first hole ...

I'd been scratching my head to figure out why the masking guide couldn't align, and then found out I was counting the wrong holes. Anybody know if the first screw is intentionally removed?

There is an error on the printed template. I am embarrassed to admit it, but I blindly lined up the template using the marked screw locations on the skirt screws, and sanded the canopy accordingly. It cost me a new canopy - the sanded area was 2” too high, and in my field of vision from the seat. On the second try, I used the skirt rivets to align the template, and it was in the correct place. Good catch - wish I had been as observant!

Oh, that’s a costly print error … must have costed you much frustration and extra work. Sorry to know that.

So the correct way is basically to align with the second screw hole when the template says third, right?

That sounds right, although I would use the rivets as the primary alignment marks. After my expensive mistake when I did this a year ago, I deleted the whole episode from my brain, so hopefully someone else will chime in to confirm!

mine did. At least I didn’t drill them. Just to make sure I didn’t misunderstand, please find attached a photo of my right skirt before starting resin work.
Also, for your awareness: My skirts are from 2019.

Thanks! Yours does have the very first hole there. No idea why it was deleted. I think it helps keep the skirt tight to the canopy. Will give Vans a call.
