I travel to Mexico and Guatemala quite often for my work, and have been in Otters, Caravans, and an Islander (all as a passenger) flying into small sloped one-way strips in some pretty rugged terrain. I have wondered how a person would make out flying a general aviation airplane in these countries.
Off to Durango, Mexico in the morning. I will be watching for the write up of your trip!

Hi Don,
My sister has a fractional ownership condo in Roatan and has been wanting me to go down there. What was your departure and way points?
I've planned a route departing from Key West to Cozumel>Belize>Roatan.
Would like to see a direct route over Cuba which I guess I could get a flyover permit.
