Lower wing root fairing

Working on 41-04. Just put the wings on. Bent the lower fairing up per instructions but top side holes don’t line up. Filed along the fuselage where it was touching. Attached bottom outboard screws and even when holding the outer edge around the leading edge flush they’re 1/4-1/2 hole off. Anyone have any suggestions? The plans don’t seem to provide any specific advice.

Hey Larry, those wing root fairings are definitely time consuming and require great patience to get on correctly. Your second picture shows some pretty big gaps that you’ll need to get rid of for the holes to line up. Get the shape 95% right and then you can use an awl to gently pull from screw to screw for final alignment. I found that I had to trim or buff both the inboard edge and the seam at the front top.
Good luck
