Anyone know anything about Matt Speare of LancAir Owners and Builders who is offering a LSRIA course in Greensboro, NC?

Light Sport Repairman Inspection - Airplane​

Even after MOSIAC the LSRI course is still very much relevant. MOSAIC didn’t eliminate it — it made it more useful.
It’s now the primary path for non-builders to legally inspect their own aircraft.

I've not met him but his name is well known in the Lancair community. LOBO has been around for decades. While I'm not a member of LOBO I did receive email from LOBO announcing they have been approved for providing LSRI courses. If I had not already completed the Rainbow course I likely would have looked into the LOBO course primarily due to the convenient location for me.
 
I met Matt in the LSRI course that we attended back in February which was put on by Mike Huffman just outside of Atlanta. During the course, Matt was inquiring what it would take to be able to put on such a training... since the Lancair group by themselves has quite a demand. It appears that he was successful in getting the ability to provide the training. He emailed out a link yesterday to sign up for 2 courses and they filled up quickly. He also indicated that they are looking at another June date in Florida and an option in California. So if interested, I would go to the Lancair Owners and Builders Organization (LOBO) and inquire.
 
Just attended Matt’s course in NC. Excellent job with the course, facilities and communications. I would highly recommend if you’re considering the LSRIA certification.

Plus 1 on Matt. He knows his stuff, speaks well and clearly, and moves the class well. It was a pleasure to attend his course. I cannot praise it too highly. Well worth the investment in time & money.

I took the Rainbow course in January. It then took about two months with getting an appointment with the FAA.
 
We are fortunate with the Greensboro FSDO. I have had people take the course on a weekend, and then meet with the FSDO the following day to get their temporary certificate.

Were those all North Carolina people? I called the GSO FSDO and they told me I had to go to the South Carolina FSDO where I live.
