KSQL t-hangar advice

After 3 years on the waitlist, I got called for a standard hangar at KSQL (somewhere on the east side). I'm not particularly familiar with the inventory, so was curious if anybody who may be familiar can advice on the good, bad, ugly of the various buildings/units? I don't mind waiting longer and holding out for a better option if needed. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you know San Carlos’ rules (I don’t). But over here at KLVK (Livermore) you are only allowed a certain number of ‘passes’ before you go to the back of the wait list.

I would accept the hangar now, and then after you've been there for a while, request a move to another hanger and/or building if you don't like the one you're in. Doing this is generally a much shorter waiting period than getting into the hanger initially. We have moved twice where we hanger at KPAE -- it really helps once the airport gets to know you.

We're out at KHAF .. same airport management. There's a swap list that allows current tenants a priority option to move hangars before they go out to new tenants. As above, I'd grab it and then put in move request once you find your favorite neighborhood.

That's not what airport mgmt is telling me, unfortunately. We went and viewed the hangar being offered - fairly basic t-hangar, old building. There are newer, nicer hangars for sure. I'd be happy to wait for a newer, nicer one, but they won't let me do so. There's no list for switching.

We CAN reject this hangar and make a request for a different wingspan supporting size, but not a different quality or class. If we make that request, we will be offered the next available hangar that matches our wingspan request. Unfortunately, I don't know how, if anything, this maps to the various buildings and vintages.

Decisions decisions.

It's a hangar, not a condo on the 160th floor of the Burj.

Does the airplane fit? Yes/No
Does the door open and is it lockable? Yes/No
Does the roof leak? Yes/No
Is it home to biologics? Yes/No

Good luck.
