Mentioned that FAA does not like Lithium batteries in avionics. Isn't the backup battery in Dynon D-10A, and so on, lithium?

Interesting take on the unreliability of BlueTooth connectivity and certainly amazing that there are no other self-contained units with display like this on the market.

EDIT: For some reason I do like the "rugged" look of the case -- seems like wasted space to me.

The FAA’s distrust of lithium batteries is relative to SkyHounds goal of making their unit a certified product.

This seems like a really awesome little unit and I think there will definitely be a market for it.

I understand the hurdles you have to get over to certify a lithium battery application, but it's a shame they didn't just design it around a couple of Duracell double A's the way a bunch of ANR headsets work.

I don't particularly like the case. It could have been made to more match the bezel styling of al the major flatscreen manufacturers. But thats just a personal styling preference. It's still a really cool device.
