Groton Airfield Camping (South Dakota)

I recently camped with my RV-8 at Groton, SD's grass strip (2E6). Runway is in excellent condition. Small building located mid-field has a kitchen, hot shower, and washer and dryer. Building is new. Out in farmland, very quiet. Vehicle was available when I was there. Nice stop for campers going to/from Oshkosh or elsewhere. Just east of Aberdeen airfield. Recommend Hangar 9 FBO at Aberdeen. Much obliged to those that made this happen.

Groton is where I'm from. Live in AZ now. Every time I visit I drive by the airport. Glad it is usable. There have been a few times where I wondered if it was useable.
