Another way to "align" the fuel filler neck with the hole in the tank skin ...
Simply a "stepped" adapter - filler neck i.d. on one side; and, tank skin hole i.d. on the other. I just used PVC hollow tubing because I had some, but any kind of laminated wood that could be turned on a lathe would work just as well.
