I have a little time available on this condition inspection (don't ask why, nothing to do with me or the plane) ............ so I'm checking/re-checking the rigging of the ailerons and flaps. I've known the ailerons weren't perfect, but they're MUCH closer now. But when checking the flaps for full travel, I'm measuring about 3 degrees short of the minimum called out in aircraft assembly instructions, which is 32 to 37 degrees of travel for a -9/9A. I must be missing something because I don't see how I can adjust this to get "full travel". Is the flap motor travel adjustable? I don't think it is. And the flap weldment is 'fixed', the attach points on the flap weldment aren't adjustable, and the connection for the flap positioning rod on each flap is fixed/predetermined. It's been a while since I've assembled this portion of the plane. But what am I not seeing or remembering what I need to do regarding flap travel adjustment?
If anyone can shed some light on this for me, I would certainly appreciate it. Apparently it has been too long since I've done this, or verified it.
