Flap motor support

At the point of installing the electric flap motor. Fabricated the additional parts required. Then try to figure out why they don't seem to work.
Was my "support beam" bent the opposite direction after punching the holes?
Anyone else encounter this? Any ideas how to remedy this and build on?

Yes, this is fixable. You need to move the flap actuator plate (doubler) to the opposite side of the flap channel referring to your photo above. Then you need to move the flap motor bracket over to the right side of the flap channel. Looks like you did a mirror image of the correct orientation. So the extra holes that you are going to have on the right side will be covered up when you put the flap channel side panels on, so these will not be seen. As for the three holes for the bracket, now you're going to have six, but you can just set "dummy" rivets in the empty holes and no one will be the wiser. Build on.

I thought about that...leaves a lot of extra holes. The holes shown and used were prepunched from Van's
I sent email to Van's Support, Maybe they can send me the proper parts.

Wow, I see what you mean. I thought maybe you had done that, but definitely looks like you have a defective part. I'm sure they'll replace it for you!

Van's sent replacement channel (took just shy of a month). Easy install when correct part.
