I am purchasing my first RV(8) and I am eager to fly it home. It's all dynon glass and I plan on adding a Garmin GPS to make it IFR certified. All I need is an HS34 Module. Does anyone have one sitting around from when they upgraded avionics? Many thanks!
I have an HS 34 in my RV9a with a garmin 375 and a tru tram digiflight 2 autopilot. Other than a quicker way to set baro and having a heading bug I still can’t figure out what else it’s good for. What am I missing?

The HS34 will take ARINC data from the GPS and make it available to the HSI function. Two things that gives you beyond a RS232 connection: 1) it provides the turn anticipation in a GPS approach where you are to turn before crossing the waypoint. 2) it handles the appropriate course sensitivity as you go from enroute to terminal to approach. Otherwise the Dynon will still show the enroute sensitivity always.
It also gives you the button to allow choosing between two Nav sources.

I managed to find one. Would you mind sending a photo of how it's installed? Looks like the mounting bracket is supposed to screw into the panel according to Dynon's schematics. Id rather keep a cleaner look but the shape of the bracket is odd and limits options. Thanks
