I almost pulled the trigger on my second RV-8 (and third RV overall) awhile back and was astonished to find that it was three years ago! Wow. I was just about ready to send in my order when the whole laser-cut parts debacle came out followed by the bankruptcy situation. Anyway, that all seems to be behind us now, so I just sent in my order.
Now, I've just got to tool up again. Cue Spruce, Cleveland, Brown, SteinAir, Yardstore, etc. My car will just have to get accustomed to the driveway for a couple of years.
I've been looking for another airplane lately (Waco, Great Lakes, and T-6 were all strong contenders), but I realized that my old RV-8 was the most purely fun airplane I've ever flown, including warbirds. It ticks all my boxes: tandem, tailwheel, aerobatic, reasonably quick, decent range, etc. So...glad to say that I'll shortly be back at it.
