Failure is beautiful

My friend Cameron Rogers helped me build my RV8. Now that it is flying he asked for my left over scraps.
He has installed the artwork “Failure is Beautiful” in his shed.
Points for identifying the bits and pieces. Although a few of them are quite pristine, they are not for sale.

Nice work! Between my scrapped laser cut parts and mess ups during the build I could create enough of these art works to open a small modern art museum. Maybe I could charge admission and recoup some of the expense of those parts.

I had quite a few scrap parts from my RV-3B project, including a horizontal stabilizer and more than one right aileron. Odd, but the left one went so well....

Anyway, this being a college town, things happen. One day a young man came to my door and apologized and said that his fraternity had assigned, as hazing, the newbies to scrounge off-the-wall weird things. There was going to be some sort of prize for the best. I gave him a scrap aileron, and showed him why it was scrap. He said with pleasure, "I'm going to win!" and dashed off.
