Facet fuel pump

Does anyone know if the ‘Gold-Flo’ Facet electrical pump will flow fuel through it if it is turned off? The part number is 476387. My issue is that the mechanical fuel pump (brand new) will not pump fuel if thr electrical pump is turned off. Alternate question does anyone have a part number for a pump that will allow fuel to flow through it if it is off? Thanks in advance.

Sam--476087 does not have a anti siphon valve, so your mechanical pump should be able to pull fuel through the electric pump when off. Only way to know is to test it.

these pumps typically need a check valved on the upstream side. I suspect different pumps have different spring ratings. they likely list details in their spec sheets. some pumps are designed for pull through and others are not, I believe. if the spring is too stiff, the mech pump may not have enough head strength to pull fuel through. best to speak with their tech folks.

Most Facet pumps do not have a check valve and will flow freely in both directions when not operating. However some models of Facet pumps DO have check valves and/or anti-siphon valves which would prevent free flow. Your part number does not appear on the spec sheet I have, so I can't help with that particular model. If you meant 476087, that one does not have a check valve.

I mis-remembered the part number. This particular pump does have an anti-siphon valve, so a bypass is going to be put in place to allow fuel to flow when the pump is off. Thanks to all who replied!
