DLC lifter O-360 Lycoming Engines Cam options

I’m in the process of overhauling my O-360-A1A and I plan on utilizing the DLC lifters in the engine, my question is what is the consensus on running the superior cam VS the lycoming cam. The reason I asked was when I contacted superior they told me their cam was not compatible with the DLC lifters. However when I talked with Aircraft Specilaties they told me that most people run the superior cam over the cost of the lycoming cam.

The DLC (Diamond Like Coating) by Lycoming are the best out there and there compatible with everyone’s flat tappet cams. I’ve pulled a set of DLC’s out at TBO and they looked so perfect I put them back in for another turn. The DLC coating is truly space age and is incredibly hard and slick. I first heard about the coating being used in Top Fuel engines in the drag racing world. If you order a new fuel pump push rod from Lycoming you’ll see it has the coating on the end that rides on the cam on the accessory gear. Beware the push rods are over $230.00 last time I checked !!

+1

Bad info from superior. They are fully compatible. Ask superior how they got a pma part approved that is not compatible with a lycoming lifter. No way i would put an engine together today without dlc lifter bodies.

I have this photo framed on the back of the bathroom door 😬
