I have not been able to find instructions in the manual for how to see the current version of software installed on a Garmin G5. When I power up the instrument it briefly displays "G5 8.2". I assume that is the software version but I'm not positive. Does anyone know where in the menu you can find the software version installed?
Related to this, I purchased the instrument as "experimental". If the start up screen 8.2 is the software version installed, it is due for an update. The current experimental version is 8.6. There is no 8.2 pervious version listed. There is a previous "certified" version 8.2 listed. So should I assume the software installed is the 8.2 certified version? And if so will updating with the current 8.6 experimental version cause any problems?
