Would like to get the lengths for the Lycoming IO-360 for the RV8. Also, would like to get a source since they are not available on Vans. Appreciate the help. Thanks, Tom

Every aircraft is unique. It depends on what type controls you put in, where they are located, what type of induction system you have...all kinds of stuff. I'd suggest you mount the engine and go from there. Yeah, the 8 probably has less variation than other models, but you really want to be precise. Another builder recommended using 1/4" plastic ice maker line to approximate the position and routing of each line, as it bends about like control cables will. You can mark on it with a Sharpie, then measure when it's stretched out. That's a whole lot easier than bending a tape measure around or guessing.

As far as a source, I think I got mine from Aircraft Spruce. But I'm not positive.

They're not available from Van's?!? Are they not in either the finish or firewall forward kit? They sure were back in the day. I'm still getting used to all of the changes since my first two kits. Prices are way up and it seems that customer service proactivity and kit inclusions (as well as the ability to make add/drop alterations) have gone the other way. I really want another RV-8, so I'm willing to put up with a lot, but I've been generally disappointed with the current state of affairs so far. I'll be very happy to discover that I'm wrong about this and that things are really just as great as they ever were...
