Has anyone ever had to chase the threads on an RV-7 axle because the aluminum axle nut was getting stripped?
I did tires, etc on my RV and I found that the aluminum nut was completely stripped. Ordered some more from Vans and came up with a temp solution (by shortening the existing nut to get down to "good" threads)...But it pretty much stipped out too (under hand screwing pressure). Damn that aluminum is soft!
Want to figure out the core issue before putting on the new nuts. I'm betting the alxe threads are bunged up and need to be chased?
