Canopy Rod Issue

So today during run up my canopy which I had down in the cracked position flung open. The strap of course caught it but it bent the crap out of the long rod. I’ll call Vans Monday. I’m guessing vans might have the rod stock on hand. I’ll get them to send the drawings since I have none of the plans. Anyone have advice?

You can buy that thick wall aluminum tubing from spruce.

The plans are available to view on the Vans web store if you have registered your aircraft/account with Vans. The tubing called out is 3/8 X .065 wall 6061 T6 aluminum.
